Chapter 19 - Cassandra finally compares notes
Cassandra met with her parents and lawyers after seeing the mortgage file.
For the first time, she saw emails Michael had sent us.
One:
I understand the townhouse is only temporary housing and title remains yours.
Sent three months before he told Cassandra transfer was “basically done.”
Cassandra called him.
Not me.
Not Ellen.
According to later filings, she asked:
“You knew?”
Michael said:
“It was going to happen until Mom got involved.”
Still shifting.
Then Dennis showed Cassandra my written refusal from the beginning.
No reversal.
No withdrawn promise.
Cassandra moved out of their rented apartment two weeks later.
Not because we demanded it.
Because her version of the wedding conflict broke.
She had believed Ellen was humiliating her financially.
Instead Michael had been using Ellen as an explanation for promises he could not fulfill.
