His complaint alleged:
I used my evaluator status to escalate a minor interpersonal incident.
I allowed my assessment role to contaminate disciplinary action.
I had created an intimidating atmosphere after the alarm.
I had privately encouraged Noah to cooperate.
The last allegation contained enough truth to matter.
I had spoken to Noah.
I had not coached his testimony.
But my promise to protect him could be portrayed as creating loyalty.
So I disclosed the conversation myself.
The investigating officer asked:
“Would you say it again?”
“No.”
“Why?”
“Because it was beyond what I could guarantee.”
“Did you intend to influence his account?”
“No.”
“Did you tell him what to say?”
“No.”
“Did you discuss Jake’s guilt?”
“No.”
That was supported by Noah.
