Silence.
“Did Chief Mitchell give you permission to touch her?”
“No.”
“Was physical contact necessary for safety?”
“No.”
“Why did you do it?”
Another shrug.
“Jake was messing around.”
There.
Not self-defense.
Not confusion.
Not emergency.
