Chapter 4 - DANA’S FIRST STORYDana told police the attack never happened.

Her statement:

I became dizzy.

Dropped a glass bottle.

Cut myself.

Panicked.

Dana picked up another bottle to move it away from me.

Luke burst in and assaulted her.

The recording contradicted part of that.

But audio without video still left context arguments.

Her attorney immediately emphasized:

No camera in nursery.

No bottle impact on my body.

No serious maternal injury.

Luke struck Dana.

I had hired a nanny, become suspicious, arranged recording, and invited my investigator brother to the house.

Their theory:

A setup.

I hated it because it was not absurd enough to dismiss without evidence.

Luke said:

“This is why we document instead of argue.”

He gave police his phone location.

Text history with me.

Parking receipt from the coffee shop where he waited two blocks away.

My message at 1:51 p.m.:

I’m going to talk to her now.

His reply:

Call if you want me inside.

At 2:06:

Something is wrong. Come.

That was why he arrived.

Not psychic timing.

Not a hidden sting operation.

I had managed to send three words while Dana was in the hallway getting the second bottle.

May you like

Something is wrong.

Come.
