“Then why confess?”
“Because I needed the police inside the clinic before Pierce moved the children.”
The claim complicated everything.
Vivian insisted she deliberately escalated the confrontation to trigger Amelia’s emergency system.
She tore records because some contained falsified consent forms.
She shut off the monitor because the device was transmitting data to Pierce.

Vivian looked away.

“You drowned it.”
