No kidnapping conspiracy.
The prosecution argued:
He assaulted Sarah.
Left her critically injured.
Failed to seek help.
Realized Lily had gone into a lethal storm with infants.
Chose flight instead of emergency response.
The defense argued:
Sarah initiated the struggle.
Marcus panicked.
He believed Lily went to a nearby neighbor.
He did not understand Sarah’s injury severity.
Then I testified.
Defense asked:
“You hated Marcus before he married your sister?”
“Yes.”
“You hired an investigator?”
“Yes.”
“You threatened to cut your sister off?”
“Yes.”
“You told her never to return?”
“Yes.”
“Would you agree you wanted this marriage to fail?”
I looked at Sarah.
Then Marcus.
“Yes.”
The attorney paused.
I continued only when asked.
