Chapter 10

No complete financial investigation was revealed in the mansion foyer.
No final arrest happened on-screen.
No divorce outcome was announced.
No ownership transfer was shown.
The confrontation ended with Claire Carter Vale standing unsteadily beside the marble column, injured but upright, one hand near her split lip and her green eyes fixed on Adrian.
Her white dress was torn and dirt-stained.
Her bruises remained visible.
But the fear that had held her on the floor was gone.
Adrian was restrained in the blurred background by the protective team, his rage collapsed into panic.
Celeste stood near the staircase, black dress immaculate, face drained of certainty.
Evelyn Shaw remained beside Claire with the leather case, the sealed documents and evidence drive still unrevealed.
Outside the open wrought-iron doors, black vehicles filled the circular driveway under stormy daylight.
The final truth had not been read.
The missing money had not been explained.
The recordings had not been played.
But Adrian had raised his foot over his injured wife and said no one would ever believe her.
Then the doors opened.
And Claire answered with the truth he never prepared for.
“No, Adrian. It was always mine.”
The mansion fell silent after that.
May you like
Not because the fight was finished.
Because, for the first time, Adrian was no longer the one deciding what the house would remember.
