Chapter 7 - THE LABPolice took the cup, remaining tea, white container, and receipt after I consented and Eleanor’s access to the items was documented.

The house did not become a television crime scene.
Nobody wrapped the breakfast room in yellow tape.
Evidence collection was specific.
The liquid in my untouched morning tea contained a benzodiazepine medication.
The same drug was confirmed in my blood.
The white powder contained the same active compound mixed with an inert filler.
Not herbal.
Not digestive.
Prescription sedative.
The receipt showed a recent fill in Denis Vale’s name for that medication.
Still not enough to prove how Eleanor obtained it.
Or whether Denis knew.
Or how long she had been using it.
But the question had changed.
