Chapter 17 - DANIEL AND I FIGHTDaniel came home when the triplets were twelve days old.

Not as a savior.
As an exhausted father who had missed their birth.
He cried holding all three.
Then tried to take control of everything.
New locks.
Security cameras.
Visitor list.
Lawyers.
Night nurse.
Private security suggestion.
I snapped.
“I do not need another man deciding my life because he’s scared.”
Daniel stopped.
“That’s not what I’m doing.”
“It feels like it.”
His face changed.
Good.
He listened.
“What do you want?”
“Night nurse twice a week.”
“Okay.”
“Doorbell camera.”
“Okay.”
“No guard.”
“Okay.”
“My family gets no contact unless I choose.”
“Okay.”
“Stop saying okay like you’re scared of me.”
He almost laughed.
“I am a little.”
May you like
Good.
We both needed recalibration.
