Never properly activated.
No adoption.
No transfer of parental rights.
No magical ownership of a baby.
I cried from relief anyway.
Then Rebecca showed me the dangerous part.
The form did not appear to be a standard document from our longtime family attorney.
It had been modified.
Someone inserted:
“Baby B, anticipated male triplet.”
That specificity bothered her.
“Who drafted this?”
The footer listed:
Miller & Pierce Family Law.
Not our family attorney.
A different office.
