Julian changed his statement.
He admitted making contact while trying to take my phone.

“I did not intend for her to fall.”
That I believed.
Intent to make me fall was hard to prove.
Intent to grab/control the phone?
Clearer.
The prosecutor ultimately charged a misdemeanor assault-related offense rather than a more serious intentional-injury theory.
No attempted murder.
No grand kidnapping.
