Chapter 8 - MY MISTAKEI made my public mistake after the ultrasound.

I posted a photograph.
Not of the baby.
Of the ultrasound dating screen.
I covered medical identifiers.
Then wrote:
Pregnancy dated before May 30. Maybe ask a doctor before calling your pregnant wife a cheater.
I did not name Derek.
I did not need to.
Our friends knew.
His family knew.
His coworkers knew.
Within an hour, people were messaging him.
Some congratulated me.
Some mocked him.
One person commented:
Vasectomy math strikes again.
I should not have posted it.
Not because the dating information was false.
Because I turned a medical fact into a public weapon while my divorce and paternity dispute were still developing.
Derek’s attorney preserved the post.
Jessica screenshotted it.
Derek texted:
Thank you for proving you care more about humiliating me than protecting the baby.
I responded:
You told your entire family I committed adultery.
Then:
You humiliated yourself.
That second sentence felt wonderful for approximately eight minutes.
My lawyer, Rachel Kim, did not enjoy it.
“Stop posting.”
“He told people I cheated.”
“Then document who heard it.”
“I’m allowed to defend myself.”
“Yes. You are also allowed to make your own case harder.”
I deleted the post.
Screenshots remained.

Another lesson.
Deletion is not time travel either.
