Chapter 13 - THE FIRST TIME I ALMOST LEFTFour months before dinner, I nearly filed for divorce.

Not over money.
Over control.
Andrew and I argued about Mason.
Mason owed $27,000 on personal credit cards after his business slowed.
Bonnie asked me to pay them.
I said no.
Andrew said:
“It would barely affect you.”
I threw the ceramic bowl into the sink.
It shattered.
Wrong.
Andrew grabbed my wrists.
Pinned me against the counter.
“Stop acting insane.”
I told him:
“Let go.”
He did.
Then cried.
Apologized.
I apologized for the bowl.
We went to one couples session.
Andrew said:
“Money makes Cadence controlling.”
I said:
“Your family makes you entitled.”
The therapist said we needed boundaries.
We agreed.
Then never returned.
I told myself marriages survive ugly fights.
May you like
They do.
But surviving is not the same as changing.
