“No. Different entity.”
“How much did Family Support pay it?”
“Over eighteen months, $96,400.”
I had to sit.
“For what?”
“Invoice descriptions say home maintenance, accessibility modifications, property-tax reserve, transportation assistance.”
“Did you approve those?”
“Not individually.”
“Why would your office pay them?”
“Family Support was set up with a monthly cap and Andrew had delegated approval below ten thousand per transaction.”
I remembered authorizing that.
I had done it because I traveled often and was tired of reviewing every furnace repair and insurance payment.
I had trusted my husband to handle his own family.
There is no fraud more humiliating than the one that used permission you genuinely gave.
“Did Andrew approve HM payments?”
“Most.”
“Bonnie?”
“Her card activity is separate.”
“What was Harold actually doing with ninety-six thousand dollars?”
“Unknown.”
