Chapter 23 - Celina’s apology
Celina resisted longer.
Her first letter blamed stress.
Luke’s business.
My attitude.
Her fear I was abandoning her son.
I returned it through counsel unread after the first paragraph.
A year later:
I hit your leg with the rolling pin.
Better.
I was angry.
Yes.
I wanted to stop you walking away.
There.
I did not intend to break your leg, but I did intend to use the rolling pin to frighten and stop you.
Accurate.
Then:
After you fell, I called you dramatic because admitting how badly you were hurt would have forced me to admit what I had done.
Good.
Finally:
I believed being Luke’s mother gave me the right to intervene in your marriage. It did not.
That one mattered.
I replied:
I received your letter. Thank you for stating your actions accurately.
Nothing else.

We did not become family again.
Accuracy can exist without reunion.
