That was not permanent punishment.
It was interim safety planning.
No medication administration.
No unsupervised medical decision-making.
No Linda present.
Molly attended some visits.
Owen too.
The first time Molly saw Daniel at the center, she ran to him.
Then stopped three feet away.
“Did you lie to Mom?”
Daniel looked at the supervisor.
She said:
“You can answer in an age-appropriate way.”
He crouched.
“Yes.”
“About Owen’s medicine?”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“I thought I was helping him and I made a bad decision.”
Molly frowned.
“Grandma made the bad decision.”
Daniel swallowed.
“I helped.”
Better.
Then:
“You held him.”
Daniel started crying.
“Yes.”
Molly looked at the supervisor.
“Can I hug him?”
“Yes.”
