Chapter 7 - DANIEL’S FIRST VERSIONDaniel claimed he never agreed to a “switch.”
He said Linda poured out one dose.
He panicked.
Then allowed her to substitute acetaminophen because he believed it was temporary until he could call the pediatrician.
“Did you call?”
“No.”
“Why?”
“I got busy.”
“Did you tell Rebecca?”
“No.”
“Why?”
“She would have forced the antibiotic.”
I stared at the interview summary.
Forced.
As though giving a prescribed medication for a culture-confirmed infection was irrational domination.
Then:
“Did you prepare prefilled syringes later?”
Daniel admitted he did.
“Why?”
“So Rebecca wouldn’t accidentally give both.”
Both what?
“The fever medicine and what Mom prepared.”
There.
“What did you tell your wife was in the syringe?”
He hesitated.
“The medicine.”
“Which medicine would she reasonably understand that to mean?”
