It logged print jobs by authenticated user.
At 11:42 p.m., the night after Dad died, Richard’s account printed:
Codicil_Page2_Final.pdf
One page.
Three copies.
Metadata recovered from his laptop showed the file had been created from Howard Pell’s genuine draft.
Original middle page deleted.
Replacement text inserted.
The replacement contained:
If Ethan failed to prove biological paternity within ninety days, Richard inherited the contested voting shares.
And:
If Ethan suffered physical incapacity impairing participation, Richard received temporary proxy rights.
Richard claimed his assistant prepared alternative language for legal review.
Then why print it after Dad died?
No good answer.
Worse:
A scanned image of the genuine signature page had been combined with the replacement page in a PDF on Richard’s computer.
That file was created sixteen hours after Samuel Vale died.
The “later codicil” Richard produced was not the document Dad signed.
That was the main truth.
He had taken a genuine testamentary amendment and substituted the page that mattered.
The DNA file did not expose the forgery by itself.
It destroyed the paternity story Richard used to make the altered page seem plausible.
The rest came from paper and computers.
