It looked successful online.
It wasn’t.
Revenue fluctuated wildly.
A warehouse lease became too expensive.
Two major clients paid late.
She carried about $38,000 in business and personal credit-card debt.
The $10,000 was money she had borrowed from our mother.
Diane transferred it to Olivia that week.
Olivia withdrew much of it because she intended to negotiate payments with vendors who gave discounts for immediate payment.
Not great financial management.
Not illegal.
I did not know about the loan before the party.
Ben did.
Sort of.
Diane had mentioned:
“I’m helping Olivia through a rough month.”
Why did Olivia then call the money hers?
Because once Diane transferred it, practically it was.
