A lesser reckless-endangerment count recognizing the danger created while Lily was in my arms.
The judge considered:
Her age.
No prior convictions.
The video.
The head strike.
The child’s presence.
Her treatment progress.
Her eventual admission.
The sentence included a short period of custody followed by a longer suspended term, supervised probation, mandatory behavioral-health treatment, anger intervention, restitution for medical expenses not otherwise covered, and no direct contact with me or Lily except under later authorized conditions.
It was serious.
Not life imprisonment.
Not nothing.
Olivia was not criminally charged for the staged theft accusation because no actual theft existed and she never formalized the accusation to police before it was disproved.
