The video showed Mom pointing.
Vanessa approaching.
One slap.
No visible strike from Mom first.
Then Vanessa changed.
“She spit at me.”
The video angle did not clearly show mouths.
Audio contained no obvious spit sound, because spit is not cinematic.
Could Mom have?
Possible.
Mom denied it.
Even if she had, the proportionality and context remained questions.
Vanessa later said:
“I lost control.”
That was the first honest description.
The slap became a separate elder-abuse investigation.
Not automatic felony imprisonment.
Injury:
Redness.
No fracture.
No fall.

Still relevant to guardianship because Vanessa had positioned herself as Mom’s caregiver and Andrew’s primary support.
