Dalton repeatedly looked toward me before entering the aircraft.
Then spoke to another agent.
The other agent later reported that Dalton said:
“The guy in two has mobility issues and a kid. Better to move both together before departure than juggle singles.”
Not:
Remove the disabled veteran.
Still troubling.
He was considering my mobility as a reason I was easier to package into a downgrade.
His attorney—because Dalton obtained one through his union—argued the opposite.
Dalton was trying to preserve my accessibility and keep me with Maya.
A disability-accommodation specialist reviewing the incident said:
“If the seat move was required, accessibility should have been considered. But disability cannot simply become a reason to select someone for adverse re-accommodation.”
The airline did not immediately call it unlawful discrimination.
