Chapter 13 - Brian knew more than Scott
Brian was forty-four.
Oldest Pierce child.
Contractor.
Financially unstable for years.
He knew Harold sometimes used Christine’s credit strength.
He told himself she had agreed.
Why?
Harold said she had.
Brian benefited from one $22,000 business line indirectly backed through a family guarantee structure.
Christine denied knowingly guaranteeing it.
Her signature appeared.
Expert review later suggested electronic copying from another document was possible.
Brian said:
“I didn’t know that.”
Maybe.
No evidence proved he forged it.
Scott, forty-one, knew less.
He had borrowed from Harold openly.
He thought the document box contained estate planning.
On the day Jake was restrained, both brothers responded because Harold shouted:
“Grab him.”
Brian obeyed.
Scott obeyed.
That did not require them to understand the financial secret.
