Chapter 15 - My mistake with the encrypted app

I made a bad decision.

Marcus had warned me.

I still used the encrypted app to send him photographs of two documents my attorney had lawfully provided from discovery.

No classified information.

No stolen records.

But Marcus had explicitly said:

Do not turn me into an investigator.

I asked:

“Does this look like the kind of signature reuse we used to see?”

He answered:

“Stop.”

Then called me.

“You are building your own parallel interpretation.”

“I’m asking professional context.”

“You’re a party to a family case.”

“I know what I’m looking at.”

“That is the problem.”

I snapped:

“My son was held down because he found this.”

Marcus went quiet.

Then:

“Your son needs you credible.”

That stopped me.

I deleted the local copies after confirming my attorney retained proper records.

Told my lawyer what I had done.

She documented it.

No evidence contamination because Marcus did not alter or obtain anything independently.

Still stupid.

My old life made me think expertise excused role boundaries.

It did not.
