Chapter 11 - Owen takes Lily home
Owen filed an emergency motion regarding Lily.
Not to remove Vanessa permanently.
To temporarily adjust parenting time while the criminal investigation proceeded.
Vanessa was still Lily’s mother.
She had not harmed Lily physically in the breakfast incident.
But Lily had witnessed violence.
And evidence suggested she had been put into the role of enforcing Vanessa’s rules with Emma.
The court entered a temporary arrangement.
Lily primarily stayed with Owen.
Vanessa received structured contact.
No unsupervised interactions involving Emma, obviously.
No using Lily to communicate with witnesses.
The judge said something important:
“Lily is not responsible for explaining or defending either parent.”
Good.
Because Vanessa had already texted Owen:
Lily knows it was an accident.
Lily did not know that.

Lily had said the opposite.
A child should not become a defense exhibit for her mother.
