Chapter 22 - Jason and Rachel

Jason filed for divorce before Rachel entered her plea.
People praised him for that.
I did not.
Leaving after exposure is easier than intervening before.
Still, it was necessary.
Rachel accused him of abandoning her after benefiting from everything she did for the household.
There was truth in that.
She had handled enormous caregiving labor.
Jason had benefited.
That did not authorize confinement.
During one mediation session Rachel said:
“You got to be the good dad because I did everything ugly.”
Jason answered:
“I let you do too much.”
Then:
“But locking them was yours.”
Correct.
Distributed responsibility.
Separate acts.
The divorce took nearly a year.
No giant asset battle.
They had a mortgage.
Two cars.
Debt.
Ordinary finances.

Rachel moved after release to another county.
She had no direct contact with the children initially.
