Oscar’s filing referred to anxiety.
How did he know details?
He was my spouse.
I had told him.
But he also attached a screenshot from my patient portal.
My private account.
Access history showed login from our home computer the morning after Grace was born.
I had not been home.
Oscar knew an old password.
That created another issue.
Not necessarily dramatic federal hacking charges.
But unauthorized access was relevant.
More importantly, the medical record did not say:
Postpartum psychosis.
Danger.
Incapacity.
It said:
History of generalized anxiety disorder, stable.
Labor note:
Patient tearful during prolonged contraction pattern but oriented and capable of consent.
Anesthesiology note:
Received fentanyl through epidural protocol and other medications.
That mattered to the papers.
Could I legally sign while medicated?
Possibly.
Medication alone does not erase capacity.
The question was whether I understood and voluntarily agreed.
