Arthur filed for temporary parenting time after Elise’s birth.
His lawyer argued:
He never touched me.
Never locked the door.
Never intended physical harm.
Had no criminal history.
Had attended prenatal appointments.
Wanted a relationship with his daughter.
All true.
My lawyer, Tessa Moreno, told me:
“Do not turn family court into criminal sentencing.”
I hated hearing it.
She continued:
“Elise’s court needs to decide what contact is safe now. Not what punishment satisfies you.”
Arthur received supervised visits.
Two hours.
Twice weekly initially.
Professional center.
No Victoria.
He never missed one.
That complicated my anger.
I wanted him to be either monster or father.
