Chapter 5 - WHY SIX MINUTESVincent was not omniscient.

He was not monitoring my apartment.
He did not have a hit squad permanently parked downstairs.
The reason he arrived in six minutes was embarrassingly ordinary.
He was having a late dinner at Belladonna, an Italian restaurant he owned three blocks from my building.
Anthony Bell and Michael Savino were with him.
When I called, they were leaving.
Vincent knew my address because he had sent flowers there after my wedding.
I had returned them.
He remembered anyway.
They drove two blocks.
Traffic was light.
Building security recognized Vincent.
That created another problem.
Why had our doorman allowed three men upstairs without calling me?
Because Derek had once added Vincent Moretti to our “family access” list as a joke after discovering the connection.
Or so he claimed.
He never removed the name.
Vincent’s arrival was not supernatural.
