Chapter 15 - JULIAN’S COUNTERSTORYJulian admitted grabbing me.

Eventually.

His first version:

I fell.

Then police photographs showed finger-shaped bruises on my arm.

His second:

He grabbed me to prevent me from throwing another object.

I had thrown the glass into the sink before he touched me.

Could he have believed I might throw something else?

Maybe.

Then:

He shoved me only because I pushed him first.

I had hit his chest after he grabbed me.

Sequence mattered.

No camera captured the hallway.

My statement.

His statement.

Physical injuries.

Prior messages.

The law would have to evaluate.

What became harder for Julian to explain was the morning after.

Makeup bag.

Cover bruises.

Smile.

If he believed I had merely fallen, why order concealment?

His attorney said:

He wanted to avoid embarrassing family discussion.

That explanation helped me more than it helped him.

Because it admitted he knew the bruises mattered.
