She had not done anything criminal.
Julian contacted her.
Said we were divorcing? No.
He said we planned to relocate because his firm was expanding.
He gave her house measurements.
Renovation invoices.
Photographs.
Asked for valuation.
She prepared a draft listing package.
No active listing.
No MLS submission.
No forged signature.
Nothing had legally happened yet.
Michelle told my attorney:
“Mr. Hayes said his wife was overwhelmed with family matters and he was handling logistics.”
There it was.
Again.
I was always unavailable for the decision I had explicitly rejected.
My attorney sent written notice:
I did not authorize listing.
Do not accept instructions from Julian regarding my property.
Michelle responded immediately.
Professional.
Done.
The mystery was not:
How was he going to sell the house without me?
He couldn’t easily.
