Logan was not dragged from bed by a tactical team.
He received notice through counsel and surrendered.
Charges:
Misdemeanor assault for striking Noah.
A child-abuse/endangerment count tied to knowingly using physical force against a seven-year-old.
Disorderly conduct related to subsequent confrontation with me.
No felony aggravated assault because no serious bodily injury, no weapon, and facts did not support a higher offense as charged.
He pleaded not guilty initially.
His defense:
The punch was meant as controlled body contact? Video showed cheek strike.
Bad.
He admitted poor judgment.
Then prosecutor offered plea.
One misdemeanor assault/child-abuse count.
Dismiss other.
Probation.
Anger-management.
Community service.
No contact with Noah without therapeutic/parental approval.
Short suspended jail term.
Logan accepted.
At sentencing:
“I thought I was teaching him to stop being afraid.”
The judge asked:
“Did a seven-year-old ask you for that lesson?”
“No.”
“Did a licensed instructor?”
“No.”
“Did his mother?”
“No.”
Then:
“Who did?”
Logan looked toward Grant.
“My dad.”
Grant’s face tightened.
Logan continued:
“But I punched him.”

Responsibility.
“I chose that.”
Good.
No escape through Grant.
