Child services findings were harsher than Grant expected.
Logan:
Substantiated physical abuse.
Grant:
Substantiated failure to protect.
Substantiated emotional maltreatment through planned coercive “resilience” exercises.
Substantiated knowingly placing Noah in a confrontation likely to cause fear or injury.
Me:
No maltreatment finding.
My restraint of Logan was reviewed in context and supported by videos as protective.
That last point mattered to Grant’s narrative.
Then temporary family-court order.
Noah primarily with me.
Grant supervised parenting time initially.
Not because he had hit Noah.
Because he had organized conditions leading to assault and prioritized evidence over protection after the punch.
No Logan contact.
Grant could attend therapy.
School communication through parenting app.
No discussion of Dallas with Noah.
Grant hated supervision.
So did Noah.
“Why does Dad need Mr. Kevin?”
Supervision professional.
“Because adults are making sure time feels safe while everybody works out what happened.”
“Dad won’t punch me.”
“I know.”
“Then?”
Hard.
“Safety is bigger than punching.”
