When did a dog kennel turn into a child punishment space?
Receipts helped.
Not glamorous evidence.
Two months before the first documented overnight, Camilla purchased:
A washable pet mat.
A battery lantern.
A lidded camping toilet.
A child-size fleece blanket.
The blanket looked like ordinary shopping.
The toilet did not.
She claimed all were meant for hurricane preparation and outdoor gatherings.
Then investigators found a text to her friend Elise.
Camilla:
Pippa has started the night wandering again. I’m making an outside reset spot because nothing else gets through to her.
Elise:
Outside?
Camilla:
Covered kennel. She hates bugs so it should work quickly.
Elise:
Cam, that sounds harsh.
Camilla:
Harsh is raising a liar.
