Chapter 22 - The divorce

I filed for divorce three weeks after the kennel incident.
Camilla said:
“You’re making a permanent decision in trauma.”
Maybe.
I waited before finalizing anything.
Not because I considered reconciliation realistically.
Because attorneys advised moving carefully.
Property.
House.
Retirement.
Temporary support issues.
My company interest.
No prenuptial agreement.
Pippa was not Camilla’s biological child and Camilla had never adopted her, which simplified some custody questions but complicated emotional ones.
The marriage legally ended eleven months later.
Camilla received her fair share of marital property.
I hated writing the settlement check.
Then reminded myself divorce court does not confiscate everything from a spouse because the other spouse despises her.
