Mara responded with a video.

“I am not being held,” Rachel said. “I chose to leave because Lila and Victoria keep handing our lives back to courts and boards.”
Lila watched every movement.
Rachel’s voice seemed natural.
Her eyes did not.

Rachel spoke again.

Rachel looked horrified.

Grace was at home in Kentucky under protection.
Lila called.
No answer.
Security entered the house.
Grace was gone.
