I was angry.
She had just told me Claudia was staying with her.
I said:
“If Claudia comes near Sophie again, I will ruin her.”
Silence.
Then Beth said:
“Jonathan.”
I heard myself.
Too late.
“What do you mean ruin her?”
I corrected:
“Legally. I mean I’ll use every legal option.”
But the first sentence existed.
Beth later disclosed it.
Claudia’s attorney used it to support a narrative that I was using wealth and power to destroy Claudia.
Again:
Bad words do not erase what happened on the lawn.
They do create evidence about me.
I apologized to Beth.
Then documented the call for Grace before it could surprise us later.
Grace said:
“You cannot speak like a movie villain.”
“I know.”
“You especially cannot do it while wealthy.”
“I know.”
