She described Sophie as:
Defiant.
Aggressive.
Manipulative.
Increasingly disrespectful.
She claimed the haircut was not punishment.
According to her:
Sophie had smeared gum into her own hair during a tantrum.
Claudia attempted to cut out the tangled area.
Sophie screamed.
I arrived mid-scene.
Misunderstood.
Attacked Claudia without warning.
There was a problem.
No gum.
Police preserved the cut hair from the lawn.
No sticky residue.
No gum on Sophie’s remaining hair.
No gum wrapper recovered nearby.
Claudia changed slightly.
Maybe it was candy.
Maybe hair product.
Maybe Sophie had already pulled it free.
Not enough.
Then she added another claim.
Sophie had threatened her with the scissors first.
That allegation frightened me because I knew how it would sound.
Six-year-old child.
Adult takes scissors away.
Hair cut during struggle.
