Chapter 20 - The Fellowship RestoredSilas asked his assistant to bring a slim leather case from his car.

When it arrived, he placed it before Jenna.

Inside was a copy of the original fellowship proposal.

The program had ended two years earlier, but the foundation still controlled the unused funding.

Silas looked at Jenna.

“The opportunity cannot be returned exactly as it was.”

She touched the edge of the document.

Five years had passed.

She was no longer the young nurse waiting for permission to build a future.

“I don’t want compensation for saving Adrian.”

“This is not compensation.”

Silas’s voice softened.

“It is the opportunity that was offered and stolen.”

Jenna looked toward Evelyn.

The hospital chief nodded.

“We can design an advanced trauma-leadership program around your current experience.”

Richard stepped forward.

“She should not make decisions while emotional.”

Jenna turned toward him.

“You will never make another decision for me.”

He stopped.

The sentence severed something between them.

Not love entirely.

But authority.

Silas closed the case.

“You do not have to answer tonight.”

Felicity laughed bitterly.

“Of course she’ll accept. This is what she wanted.”

Jenna faced her.

“No. I wanted to attend my sister’s wedding without being humiliated.”

Felicity’s expression faltered.

Jenna continued.

“I wanted a father who did not treat my strength as permission to steal from me. I wanted a family that did not need me to be smaller.”

Her voice remained calm.

“The fellowship cannot repair that.”

Silas nodded.

“No. But it can become something honest.”

Jenna looked around the ballroom.

The guests who had laughed now watched her with guilt.

She did not need their sudden admiration.

But she could use the moment for something larger than revenge.

“If the program returns,” she said, “it should fund more than one nurse.”

Evelyn smiled faintly.

Silas’s eyes filled again.

Even after everything, Jenna’s first instinct was to widen the door for others.

👉 Jenna refused to turn justice into a personal prize, and her decision would transform the stolen fellowship into something Felicity could never imitate.
