The glass went to a state laboratory through documented police custody.
No instant result.
I learned patience because I had no choice.
Preliminary testing eventually detected a prescription sedative.
Not a chemical designed as murder poison.
Not pesticide.
Not cyanide.
A legitimate medication.
The concentration was higher than what would ordinarily be expected from accidental contamination.
But toxicology experts were careful.
The glass contained enough medication to cause meaningful impairment if consumed.
