Partly conscience.
Partly legal survival.
Both can be true.
She entered an agreement requiring truthful testimony and accepted responsibility for her role in trying to conceal evidence.
She did not claim Dennis planned the push.
She did not embellish.
That helped prosecutors.
It also helped Dennis in one way because it ruled out more extreme theories.
I appreciated the truth.
I did not forgive her.
During her deposition in the divorce, my attorney asked:
“Did Victoria do anything to cause your relationship with Dennis?”
Serena cried.
“No.”
“Did she neglect him?”
“No.”
“Did she neglect Meadow?”
“No.”
“Why did you continue?”
Serena said:
May you like
“Because every time we crossed another line, admitting what we were doing became harder than crossing the next one.”
That was probably the most honest thing she ever said.
