Chapter 13 - Bethany’s first defense
Bethany’s attorney described the bathroom event as:
“A misguided prank during a tense interaction.”
That phrase made me physically angry.
Bethany claimed Rosie had repeatedly accused adults of things.
Once said Daniel ate her cupcake.
Once claimed Grandma moved her stuffed animal.
Ordinary four-year-old inaccuracies.
Bethany said she used the silicone cups because Rosie had been curious about them before.
A game.
The cheek injury, she said, happened when Rosie pulled away and bumped against the sink.
No intentional slap.
Why tell Rosie:
“If you stop lying, we stop playing”?
Bethany initially denied those words.
Then Daniel produced something else.
